If you’re planning to have a relaxing holiday and want to enjoy the hotels facilities, you can book a 5 star hotel. If you’re a backpacker or you don’t really need the facilities, only a place to sleep, you can look for budget hotels, Airbnb, and even guesthouse. Usually, people love to sleep in a guest-house, because they are different than what we have here. The guest-house in Korea makes you feel like living in a Korean family. Usually, the Aunts and Uncles who own the guest-house care for their guests so much, and so those who want to have a new experience living in a Korean family. Looking for a guest-house might be your style. The guesthouse are variative. There are traditional ones and modern ones.

Second, the language barrier is something frustrating in Korea. I told you before, I went there before I understand Korea. So I really don’t know how to read hangguls and I don’t know simple phrases. Before, I only know how to say ‘”Gamshahamnida”, “Annyeonghaseyo”, “Saranghaeyo”,”Take out”, “Americano”, “Bibimbab”,  “Tteokbokki”, “Samgyetang”. Okay, I did not know how to ask. I only speak English there, and the Koreans don’t understand English at all. Lucky me, I prepared flashcards written in hanggul already. You may laugh, but the flash-cards really help, coz when we don’t know we just show them that, or we read that out loud. This helps a little, this is similar to bringing a pocket dictionary. But let me tell you a simpler way after I go to Korea, I found out they have the fastest WIFI speed so you can use technologies right away. This is the 20s okay, everyone uses technologies. Well, I went there around 3 years ago, with no ideas of how Korea looks like.

After jumping over the language barrier, I’ll talk about foods. Fellow travellers who can’t eat porks and pork lards, please make sure you know how to say the phrase “I don’t eat pork and pork lard.” The next thing is easy to make sure to understand that “Maeun” is spicy, so if they ask ”Maeun?” simply wave your hand if you don’t want it to be spicy, and nod if you want. These are the basics language all people understand. The street foods in Korea is a must! Gain your weight here, it's worthy. The savoury and balanced taste of sweet and spicy in the street food, makes you addicted. One is never enough!

BUS TRANSPORT
The next one will be, public transportation. The public transportation in Korea is good. The buses are easy to be followed, and MRTs are available. To have a nice trip like me, I use to search the MRT routes beforehand. So I know when to stop and when to transfer, also which exit should I take so I don’t have to walk so far. Avoid using a taxi, for they are expensive.

You might want to look fashionable, but please think of your baggage, ladies I’m pretty sure there are many things to shop in Korea, and that means don’t bring too many clothes so you can bring back home new items. K-popers, make sure your baggage is clear enough for you to bring home your idols souvenirs and albums. Also, always bring your personal medicine. You don’t understand the drug store there in Korea.

This makes travelling more enjoyable and unforgettable, make friends and don’t be afraid to ask if you’re lost. Those 14 rules apply for different countries, just hold on to them and your natural instinct, and travelling will be an exciting adventure and new lessons. I hope you can enjoy your holiday!!
